June 28, 2007 - Senator Lisa Baker, far left and Sen. Bob
Regola (R-Westmoreland), far right, today attended a ceremony to sign
legislation that would reauthorize the state's $25 million Volunteer Fire
Company and Volunteer Ambulance Service Grant Program for five years. Baker, who
chairs the Senate Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, said
the grants provide a vital resource to the states first responders. |

Lavery of Shickshinny was confirmed by the Senate to serve another term as
Pennsylvania Victim Advocate. The Victim Advocate represents the rights and interests of crime
victims before the Board of Probation and Parole and the Department of

June 24, 2007 Senator Baker participated in Northern
Wayne Fire Company's Open House and Health and Safety
Fair. Nearly 200 firefighters, auxiliary members,
community leaders, local residents attended the event
marking the official opening of the new fire station.

Company's new fire station dedication ceremony, the crowd
inspected a life flight helicopter's flight instruments and
internal compartments after it made a special landing on the
heliport. |

 June 20, 2007 - Senator Baker and members of the House Veterans
Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee participated in a special ceremony
dedicating ten new vans that will be used by the Disabled American Veterans
Transportation Network program to transport Pennsylvania veterans with health
