March 20, 2008 – Senator Baker was recently recognized as East Stroudsburg University's 2008-2009 Legislative Fellow. The Legislative Fellow Program is a government partnership designed to utilize the knowledge and expertise of state legislators to enhance the learning experience for students. Legislative fellows participate in a variety of special events and interact with students both in and out of the classroom. March 14, 2008 - Senator Baker, Representative Sandy Major and Representative Karen Boback join third-grade students from Roslund Elementary School, Wyoming County, and their teacher Ms. Savage, to help with their state scavenger hunt. Student collected information about Pennsylvania and shared their final project with the legislators.

March 14, 2008 - Senator Baker joins community leaders at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new bridge in Wyoming County. The crossing in North Branch Township on Catlin Hollow Road was damaged by flooding several times. March 9, 2008 - Senator Baker joins students from throughout the 20th Senatorial District, who are participating in the People to People Student Ambassador Program. The group will be traveling on a goodwill mission to Australia this spring. The organization was founded by President Eisenhower to promote world peace and understanding.

March 7, 2008 - Senator Baker joins Wayne Hibbard, Chairman of the Susquehanna County Chapter of the American Red Cross, at Susquehanna County Dairy Day. Senator Baker recently introduced a resolution declaring March as American Red Cross Month.

March 5, 2008 - Senator Baker visits students from Mountain View High School, Susquehanna County, to observe first-year results of Classrooms of the Future, a program used to enhance learning through technology.

March 3, 2008 – Senator Baker, Lieutenant Governor Catherine Baker-Knoll, Representative Mike Peifer and Representative Mario Scavello join the Wallenpaupack North Intermediate School Chorus, under the director of Loriann Kerber, at the state capitol.  The chorus performed as part of Music in Our Schools Month Capitol Concert Series.
