Senator Lisa Baker prepares to sign the National Guard Family

The covenant was created specifically to pay tribute to military families

April 30, 2008 - Senator Lisa Baker, chair of the Senate Veterans Affairs and
Emergency Preparedness Committee, joins Pennsylvania Adjutant General Jessica
Wright in signing the National Guard Family Covenant. The covenant honors the
sacrifices that military families make every day.

April 29, 2008 – Reverend Beverly Butler of the Lehman-Idetown
United Methodist Church was invited by Senator Baker to serve as guest chaplain
by leading the interfaith prayer at the opening of the legislative session.

April 28, 2008 - Five juniors from Dallas High School recently had the
opportunity to experience government in action when they spent the day shadowing
Senator Lisa Baker. The students traveled to the state capitol in Harrisburg to
learn more about their shared interest in pursuing careers in government.
Throughout the day, the students were able to attend meetings with Senator Baker
and also took a tour of the capitol. The participating students are pictured in
