TOMORROW: Senate Judiciary Committee Holding Voting Meeting and Confirmation Hearing

HARRISBURG – The Senate Judiciary Committee, chaired by Sen. Lisa Baker (R-20), will hold a voting meeting, tomorrow, June 25, at 11:30 a.m., in Hearing Room 1, North Office Building of the Capitol Complex, Harrisburg.

The following will be considered:

  • Senate Bill 988, P.N. 1654 (Farry) – Amends Title 44 (Law and Justice) by expanding the DNA Collection Act, 42 Pa.C.S. §2301 et seq., to authorize the collection of DNA for certain offenses at the time of arrest.
  • Senate Bill 812, P.N. 952 (Hughes) – Amends Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) by updating section 4905 (relating to false alarm to agencies of public safety) to criminalize the act of “swatting.”
  • Nomination of Christian Stephens, Pennsylvania Parole Board.
